The Centre’s mission is to empower students and researchers with a hands-on environment that seamlessly integrates design, simulation, prototyping, and flight testing. With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, GCDIS aims to

develop sustainable and intelligent aerial solutions that address real-world challenges across agriculture, mapping, defence, surveillance, and smart logistics. The vision of the Centre is to emerge as a national leader in drone intelligence and simulation, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, industry partnerships, and technology-driven societal impact.

The facility features a state-of-the-art Precision Engineering Area equipped with advanced tools, including a CNC cutting machine for carbon fibre, metal, and composite machining, a Bambu Labs 3D printer for rapid prototyping, and an electronics workstation with soldering stations for circuit assembly and repairs. Specialized setups such as the Thrust Bench and 3-DOF Calibration Jig enable performance evaluation and flight stability testing, ensuring precise development of aerial platforms. Complementing these, the Flight Simulator Area provides immersive pilot training and mission planning

capabilities, preparing learners for real-world UAV operations.
