Legal Aid
The Legal Aid Clinic at the School of Law, Galgotias University, was formally inaugurated on April 26, 2014, by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, former Chief Justice of India. Established in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (UPSLSA), the Clinic upholds the principles of access to justice by providing free legal assistance to underprivileged sections of society. It operates in accordance with the National Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the National Legal Services Authority (Legal Aid Clinics) Scheme, 2010.
Our Mission
The Legal Aid Clinic is dedicated to ensuring that justice is not a privilege but a right for every individual, regardless of their socio-economic background. Through pro bono legal services, we assist the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged communities in understanding and exercising their legal rights. Our key initiatives include:
Legal awareness programs targeting illiterate and economically weaker sections.
Workshops and seminars to educate individuals about their legal rights and responsibilities.
Mediation and counseling services to resolve disputes amicably.
To enhance the effectiveness of its initiatives, the Clinic is structured into five specialized cells: Legal Awareness, Prison Research, Women Empowerment, RTI, and Cyber Law.

Top Ten Best Legal Aid Clinics in India – Recognized by Knowledge Steez Edu Hub in 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024. Legal Aid Emerging Award (2020-21) – Conferred by Allahabad University and Droit Penale Group at the 4th National Symposium & Awards on January 9-10, 2021. Best Legal Aid Clinic Award (2023) – Presented by the U.P. State Legal Services Authority (UP SLSA).These accolades reflect the Clinic’s dedication to promoting legal literacy, providing legal assistance, and fostering social justice.
