Purpose: Galgotias University aspires to be a leader in environmental sustainability and climate action, fostering a culture of responsibility and innovation within the university community. The purpose of the policy is:
- Reduce the University's environmental impact through operational efficiency and resource conservation.
- Integrate sustainability principles into academics, research, and outreach activities.
- Foster collaboration with stakeholders to promote a sustainable future.
Key Action Areas
Energy Management:
- Implement energy-saving measures in buildings (e.g., LED lighting, improved insulation).
- Increase reliance on renewable energy sources like solar power.
- Promote energy-efficient appliances and equipment.
- Develop and implement an energy conservation awareness program for the university community.
Water Conservation:
- Implement water-saving measures in buildings and landscaping.
- Promote water reuse and rainwater harvesting practices.
- Raise awareness about water conservation through educational campaigns.
Waste Management:
- Minimize waste generation through responsible consumption and procurement practices.
- Implement a comprehensive waste segregation and recycling program.
