About the Programme

The BA in Journalism and Media is a cutting-edge undergraduate programme that prepares students for careers in journalism, digital media, and content creation. It combines storytelling with digital innovation, offering hands-on training in mobile journalism, podcasting, multimedia production, and social media. With newsroom simulations and real-world projects, students build strong reporting, ethical, and communication skills across print, broadcast, and digital platforms. Students with a CUET / SAT (DI Code - 71057 ) score will be given preference in the merit list

NOTE: For selected 3 Year Undergraduate programs, you have the option to continue for 4th year to obtain an Honours with Research Degree

Programme Objectives

To cultivate an understanding of media’s role in Indian society and democracy with a critical lens on authority, representation, and media ownership.

To develop core competencies in journalistic practice in reportage, writing, editing, fact-checking, and media ethics across platforms.

To train students in researching, designing, and producing a range of media products - digital storytelling, multimedia content creation, and the use of emerging tools for data journalism, mobile journalism (MoJo), digital photography and AI in newsrooms.

To build a strong foundation in communication theory and research methods, strategic communication and communication for development.

To prepare students for diverse career pathways in newsrooms, digital news and content platforms, photography and filmmaking, advertising, and media research.
