Dr. C. Ramesh Babu

Professor

About

Dr. C. Ramesh Babu has 17 years of experience in teaching Civil Engineering. He believes that teaching is the profession that has the power to shape all other professions. He makes the students comfortable with the attitude “learning can be fun.” He also believes the fact that “The Guru is the one who not only teaches, but practices what he teaches.” He has delivered guest lectures and webinars on various topics like, Soil Mechanics, Disaster Management, Steel Structures, Strength of Materials, Optimization Techniques, nanotechnology in civil engineering and ANSYS software.

He has published 14 research papers in international journals and conferences including “Archives of Civil Engineering,” “American Institute of Physics Advances” (AIP Advances) and “AIP Conference Proceedings.” in peer reviewed journals.

He has authored numerous manuscripts on applications of nanotechnology in civil engineering. He has also written a chapter titled “Macroscopic CNTs as promising Reinforcements for concrete structures” in the book “Smart Nano concretes and Cement-Based Materials” (November 2019) for Elsevier Publications. Additionally, chapter “Finite Element Analysis in Nanotechnology Research” for the book titled “Finite Element Methods and their Applications” (November 2020) for IntechOpen Publishers, London.

His Ph.D. research topic is “Analytical Studies on Concrete Columns reinforced with Macroscopic CNT Bars.” which is interdisciplinary and application of Nanotechnology in Civil Engineering. He has an expertise in ANSYS APDL and its application in Structural Engineering.
