World suicide prevention day

School of mass media has conducted oneseminar on ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’ on 6th September,2024. Speaker of the event was Dr. Madhur Rathi, from Yatharth Hospital he was having six years of experience in the field of psychiatry. Seminar was successful and was attended by 5th and 1stsem. Students along with students from the school of mass media. Ms. Diksha Pandey, Assistant Professor in GUSON was hosting this event and was introduced Dr Rathi and team sir was welcome by Dr Agya Ram Pandey, Dean of school of mass media with a bouquet. Afterwards Dr Rathi started his session in the session he talked about the causes, risk, myths and prevention related to suicide. In detail he has shared his experienced of dealing with such kind of cases. He eventually asked student to fill a questionnaire to get ideology of young generation related to suicide. In his session he had a good two-way interaction with the audience.
Afterwards, sir has asked students to provide their views and how they can prevent such instances. Moving towards he has made everyone in seminar hall to proceed with one relaxation program. Also, he has talked about the advancement in the profession and need of health care worker to play a keen role in prevention of suicide in community. Students placed a number of questions and queries to the speaker regarding therapies and diversion from such thoughts and the Dr Rathi address their queries. Few of the students even ask about counseling courses and helpline numbers for such cases.
Implementation
This was a fruitful talk for the students as they gain knowledge and idea about suicide and how to help their peer in such cases.

The World Suicide prevention day at Galgotia University students as they gain knowledge and idea about suicide and how to help their peer in such cases.
Event Outcome - Event was a great success which shows a lot of hard work and strength of group who worked altogether to achieve goal.
