Visit to Hon’ble Supreme Court of India

On 22nd August, 2024, Galgotias University, School of Law went to the Supreme Court with 30 students and 4 faculties. At the court, the students were divided into different courtrooms to observe the proceedings. For example, they witnessed the case of Jitendra Kaushah vs. State of Madhya Pradesh, which was being heard by a bench comprising Justice B.R. Gavai, Justice Kumar Prashant Mishra, and Justice K.V Viswanathan.

After that, they had the opportunity to visit the library of the Supreme Court of India, which is the second largest in Asia. The library in-charge briefed them about the history of the Supreme Court, the difference between the federal court and the Supreme Court, and also showed them a copy of the Constitution of India.

Event Outcome

On 22 August,2024, the students of School of Law, Galgotias University the privilege of visiting the Supreme Court of India, which proved to be an enlightening experience. The primary purpose of the visit was to gain firsthand insight into the workings of the highest court and to observe the judicial process in action.

During the visit, they had the opportunity to attend a live session where. Observing the justices in session provided a profound understanding of their deliberative process and the gravity of the decisions they make. The grandeur of the courtroom and the meticulous attention to detail in the proceedings underscored the importance of the Supreme Court in upholding justice and constitutional principles.

The visit also offered valuable educational insights into the judicial system, highlighting the roles and responsibilities of the Supreme Court. Learning about the historical cases that have shaped our legal landscape was particularly impactful. This experience has deepened the students’ appreciation for the legal field and has inspired them to further explore a career in law.
