Utsav Cultural Event

The cultural fest Utsav 2024, organized by SCAT, was a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for a day filled with vibrant performances, creative exhibits, and celebrations of cultural heritage. Faculty members joined students in the festivities, strengthening bonds within the SCAT community and enjoying the array of talent on display.

A highlight of the fest was the special segment, A Tête-à-Tête with Musician Rohit Chaudhary, where the emerging star shared his inspiring journey, creative influences, and experiences in the music industry. Both students and faculty were captivated by his live performance, which showcased his soulful compositions and engaging stage presence.

Utsav 2024 concluded with enthusiastic applause, setting a new standard for cultural celebrations at SCAT. The event fostered a spirit of unity and inspiration, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of creativity and community pride.

a) Introduction:

Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at GalgotiasUniversity on 25th oct 2025. The cultural event “UTSAV” aimed to bring together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate this significant cultural occasion. The celebrations included a variety of cultural performances, traditional rituals, and a warm community atmosphere. The event was organized by the Cultural Committee of the college to foster unity, promote cultural awareness, and provide a platform for students to showcase their talents.

b) Event Highlights:

Rangoli Competition:
The celebration began with a colorful Rangoli competition, where students showcased their creativity and artistic skills by designing beautiful and intricate patterns using colorful powders. Various themes were explored, including traditional Diwali motifs, nature, and geometric designs. The winners were awarded prizes for their innovative and vibrant Rangoli creations.

c) Cultural Performances:
A major highlight of the Diwali celebration was the cultural performances that were presented by students from various departments. These included:

Classical Dance Performances: Students performed classical Indian dance forms such as Bharatnatyam and Kathak, showcasing their cultural heritage.

Music and Song Performances: A group of students presented devotional songs and Diwali-themed music, creating a festive mood. A live band also performed Bollywood hits, and the audience joined in singing along.

Drama and Skits: A skit highlighting the story of Diwali was enacted, bringing to life the ancient legend of Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya and the triumph of good over evil. The skit was filled with humor, moral lessons, and an entertaining portrayal of the Diwali story.

d) Traditional Diwali Feast:
A traditional Diwali feast was organized with an array of sweets like ladoos, barfis, and pedas, along with snacks such as samosas and kachoris. The food was prepared and served by the student volunteers, giving everyone a taste of festive delicacies.

Interactive Sessions and Fun Activities:

To engage the students further, several interactive games and fun activities were organized during the event, including:

Diwali Quiz: A trivia quiz based on Diwali customs, history, and general knowledge related to the festival was conducted. Prizes were given to the winners

At the end of the day, it's the people that make an institution truly great. Diwali Event “UTSAV” 2024 brought together the diverse community of GalgotiasUniversity—students, faculty, and staff from different backgrounds, all united in celebration. The joy and laughter that filled the air during the event created memories that will last a lifetime.

This year's Diwali Utsav was not only a celebration of lights but also of diversity, inclusion, and unity. From the stunning performances to the smiles on everyone's faces, it was a day to cherish and remember.
