After intense legal battles, 8 teams advanced to the quarter-finals on Day 2. From there, the competition grew tougher, and 4 teams emerged for the semi-finals, held later that same day. On Day 3, two teams made it to the finals, where they argued before an esteemed panel of judges, including Advocate Rodney D Ryder, Advocate Siddhartha Garg, and Dr. Moumita Sen Chakraborty. The event provided an excellent platform for participants to showcase their advocacy skills and engage in stimulating legal discourse.

The Primo Gradus Intra Moot Court Competition 2024, organized by Moot Court Society, School of Law, Galgotias University witnessed an intense and intellectually stimulating event, drawing participation from 18 dedicated teams. The competition, organized over three days, allowed budding legal minds to showcase their advocacy, research, and drafting skills in a highly competitive environment.
Day 1: Preliminary rounds (16th October, 2024)
The proceedings on Day 1 began with 18 teams vying for a place in the quarter-finals. To accommodate the large number of participants, the preliminary rounds were distributed across 10 courtrooms. Each courtroom hosted matches between teams in a knock-out format, with the judges evaluating participants based on their legal arguments, presentation skills, and their ability to respond to questions posed by the bench.
By the end of the day, the top 8 teams, who displayed the strongest legal acumen, were selected to proceed to the quarter-finals.
Day 2: Quarter-finals and Semi-finals (October 17, 2024)
On Day 2, the competition grew more intense as the 8 qualifying teams competed in the quarter-final rounds. After rigorous arguments, only 4 teams emerged victorious and advanced to the semi-finals, which were held later on the same day.
The semi-final rounds were a true test of endurance, legal knowledge, and courtroom tactics. The four teams battled it out with fervor, demonstrating their command over legal principles and their ability to tackle complex legal issues. Eventually, 2 teams qualified for the much-anticipated final round, leaving the others behind in closely contested matches.
Day 3: Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony (October 18, 2024)
The final round, held on October 18, 2024, was a grand affair, judged by an esteemed panel consisting of Advocate Rodney D Ryder, Advocate Siddhartha Garg, and Dr. Moumita Sen Chakraborty, a distinguished legal academic. The final two teams, TC 05 and TC 04, competed with poise and determination. The finalists presented their cases with nuanced arguments, responding to tough questions from the judges who were impressed by the depth of knowledge and skill displayed.
After a nail-biting session, TC 05 was declared the winner of the competition, emerging as the top team for their exceptional performance. TC 04 gave a commendable fight and were awarded the position of runner-up.
The Dean, School of Law, Galgotias University, Dr. Aditya Tomer concluded the event with a motivating address. He commended all participants for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to honing their legal skills. He emphasized the importance of moot court competitions in shaping the careers of law students, encouraging them to continue participating in such activities to further their understanding of the legal profession.
