Multidisciplinary Approach towards Sustainable Solutions to Global Challenges

On September 5, 2024, Galgotias University, in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, hosted a one-day workshop titled "Multidisciplinary Approach to Research for Sustainable Development Towards Global Challenges." The event, organized by the School of Basic Sciences, focused on addressing global sustainability issues through innovative research. Prof. Avadhesh Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research, while Prof. K. Mallikharjuna Babu, Vice-Chancellor, officially opened the workshop. Distinguished speakers from UTM, including Dr. Ahmad Qushairi Mohamad and Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim, presented on diverse topics such as sustainable biofuels, rheological characterization of asphalt binders, and phosphate glass nanotechnology for bone regeneration. Held at Vivekanand Auditorium, the workshop attracted students, faculty, and researchers, and participants received certificates. The event concluded with a commitment to continue exploring innovative solutions for sustainable development. The success of the workshop was attributed to the efforts of faculty coordinators and organizers.

School of Basic Sciences, Galgotias University Hosts Workshop on Multidisciplinary Research for Sustainable Development.On September 5, 2024, Galgotias University, in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, successfully conducted a one-day workshop titled "Multidisciplinary Approach to Research for Sustainable Development Towards Global Challenges." The event, organized by the School of Basic Sciences, aimed to address pressing global issues through innovative research methodologies. The workshop began with a warm welcome from the Prof. (Dr.) Avadhesh Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, who highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing the complex challenges of sustainable development. Following this, Prof. (Dr.) K. Mallikharjuna Babu, Vice-Chancellor formally announced the workshop open, setting the stage for an engaging day of knowledge exchange. The workshop featured esteemed speakers from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Dr. Ahmad Qushairi Mohamad, Dr. Nurhafizah Hasim, and Dr. Nur Izzati Mohd Noh accompanied with Dr. Noraihan Afiqah Rawi, Dr. Norshahirah Mohamad Saidi, and Dr. Mohd. Fuad bin Mohamad. They presented on diverse topics such as the use of biomass carbon as sustainable biofuels, the rheological characterization of hot mix asphalt binders with recycled materials, and the application of phosphate glass nanotechnology in bone regeneration.Held at the Vivekanand Auditorium, the workshop attracted a significant number of participants, including students, faculty members, and researchers. Participants received certificates for their involvement. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, Dean of the School of Basic Sciences, concluded the event with a vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the distinguished delegates, faculty members, and student coordinators for their invaluable contributions. He motivated faculty members and students to perform collaborative research with UTM actively. Prof. (Dr.) Sunita Sharma was the faculty coordinator. A special thanks to Prof. Prabhakar Singh Program chair Physics, Prof. Anjali Gupta Program chair Chemistry, Prof. Varsha Gautam Program chair Maths, Faculty coordinators: Prof. Asheesh K. Gupta, Prof. Ranjeet Kumar, Prof. Anis Ahmad, Prof. Sushmita Majumder, Prof. S.K. Kundu, Prof. Subhalaxmi Pradhan, Prof. Sarita Malik, Dr. Dinesh Chaudhary, Dr. Deepak Gupta, Dr. Sayantika Chanda, Dr. Sakshi Singh, Dr. Jaya Tuteja, Dr. Ankan Pandey, Dr. Amit, Dr. Pinki, Dr. Achyutesh, Dr. Disha Mittal, and Dr. Gargi of School of Basic Sciences for playing a pivotal role in coordinating the event, ensuring its success and enriching the overall experience.

The workshop ended with a commitment to continue exploring innovative solutions for sustainable development.
