Motivational Session on “Women in Organic Farming: Experiences and Challenges”

Date of event: 22nd November 2025

Department: School of Agriculture

The School of Agriculture (SOAG), Galgotias University, organized an inspiring and thought-provoking motivational session on “Women in Organic Farming: Experiences and Challenges,” delivered by Dr. Archana, Founder, Urban Agro Organics. The session brought together students from various agricultural domains, encouraging them to explore the dynamic role of women in shaping sustainable and resilient organic farming systems.

Dr. Archana shared her personal journey and extensive experiences in the field, highlighting how women farmers are emerging as transformative leaders in organic agriculture. She discussed the unique challenges faced by women-including limited access to land, resources, market linkages, and decision-making platforms-while also showcasing how determination, innovation, and community-based approaches are helping women overcome these barriers.

The interactive nature of the session enabled students to engage in meaningful conversations on gender inclusivity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable farm practices. Dr. Archana emphasized the need for strengthening support systems for women farmers, promoting skill development, and fostering market-driven organic farming models. She inspired students to adopt a holistic, empathetic, and community-centered approach while working in the agricultural sector.

The session broadened learners’ understanding of the social and economic dimensions of organic farming and reinforced SOAG’s vision of empowering future agricultural professionals with both technical knowledge and social awareness. By organizing such motivational and knowledge-enriching sessions, the School of Agriculture continues to promote inclusivity, sustainability, and excellence in agricultural education.
