Purpose
Contribute to the conservation efforts of species listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and other designated protected species.
Policy
Monitoring and Reporting:
GU will actively monitor the status and trends of species listed by the IUCN and other designated protected species.
Collaboration with IUCN: GU will collaborate with the IUCN and other relevant conservation bodies to stay informed about updates,recommendations, and guidelines related to the conservation of listed species.
Data Collection and Research: Establish and support research programs focused on the biology, ecology, and population dynamics of IUCN-listed and other protected species within the organization's jurisdiction.
Habitat Preservation: Ensure the preservation and restoration of natural habitats crucial for the survival of IUCN-listed and other protected species.
Education and Awareness: Develop and implement educational programs to raise awareness among staff, stakeholders, and the community about the importance of conserving IUCN-listed and other protected species.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations: GU complies with all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations related to the protection and conservation of IUCN-listed and other designated protected species.
Mitigation Measures: Implement measures to mitigate potential impacts on IUCN-listed and other protected species arising from university activities.
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to promote the conservation of IUCN-listed and other protected species, encouraging sustainable practices and responsible interactions.
