Engaging Minds Shine at Galgotias University's Active Learning FDP
The School of Business at Galgotias University hosted a dynamic Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Engaging Minds through Active Learning" on February 8th, 2024.
More than 100 participants including Students and faculties of School of Business attended the session. Prof (Dr.) Seema Gupta, Dean, School of Business welcomed the invited speaker and the participants. They talked about the importance of conducting FDPs along with importance of active learning.
Dr. Vivek Aggarwal, Associate Professor, School of Business introduced the speaker Prof. (Dr.) Anuj Verma. Prof. Verma is currently Director, Jaganath Institute of management, Kalkaji.
Led by Dr. Anuj Verma, the program equipped faculty with valuable strategies to create student-centered, interactive learning experiences. Attendees explored various active learning models, including problem-based learning, flipped classroom techniques, and role-playing activities. Interactive sessions involved hands-on workshops, peer teaching exercises, and exploration of online tools. Open discussions encouraged shared experiences and brainstorming solutions to common challenges.
Key takeaways included effective course project development, stimulating classroom discussions, promoting critical thinking through debates, and utilizing polls and quizzes for assessment. Participants lauded the program's engaging approach and practical guidance, highlighting its potential to enhance their teaching effectiveness and improve student learning outcomes.
The session was ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Chand Rashid. (Dr.) Seema Gupta, Dean, School of Business facilitated the speaker with memento.
