Exposure Visit to Pre-Incubation Unit-FabLab

Event brief description – Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with Department of Mechanical Engineering, Galgotias University successfully organized "Exposure Visit to Pre-Incubation Unit-FabLab” on 25 February, 2023, from 09:00 AM-06:00 PM. 

Event Detailed Description-

More than 45 participants including UG and PG students and faculties of Galgotias University were attended the session.

Dr. Sumedha Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, Division of Clinical Research welcomed the invited speaker Mr. Shrikant Vidya, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Shrikant Vidya demonstrated the functioning of reverse engineering setup including 3D Scanner, 3D printer, laser engraver, CNC carving, CNC Router, and CO2 laser. In this exposure visit participants were able to learn the principle and application of 3D printer in customisable items, products such as personalized models of art and jewellery. CNC router is an automated machine that cuts the object to some desired shape. Participants were able to learn about the functioning of CNC router and its various applications to produce items such as wood panels, door carvings, furniture, musical instruments, moldings and wooden frames.
