In alignment with its commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship, Galgotias University has installed multiple Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations within the campus. This initiative aims to promote clean and affordable energy use while supporting the transition to green transportation systems. This report evaluates the infrastructure, impact, and alignment of the project with global sustainability goals.

The key objectives behind the installation of EV charging stations include:

∙ Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles.

∙ Providing convenient access to EV charging facilities for students, faculty, and visitors.

∙ Supporting the global initiative for clean and renewable energy adoption.

∙ Demonstrating the university’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

The facility has features like:

∙ Number of Charging Stations: A total of 6 charging stations have been installed.

∙ Charging Technology: The stations are equipped with Level 2 chargers, supporting both Type 1 and Type 2 connectors to cater to a wide range of electric vehicles.

∙ Power Supply: The stations are powered through a mix of grid electricity and solar energy, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy source.

∙ Capacity: Each charging point can support up to 7 kW, allowing efficient charging of multiple vehicles simultaneously.

Sustainable and Shared Campus Transportation Program

Galgotias University has introduced a range of sustainable and convenient transportation services to support eco-friendly commuting and reduce campus congestion.

∙ The university encourages a carpool service to minimize the number of single-occupancy vehicles, fostering community engagement and lowering carbon emissions.

∙ Additionally, a car-sharing program allows students and staff to access shared vehicles for their travel needs, promoting efficient resource utilization.

∙ For group commuting, a van service and a reliable bus service have been established, ensuring seamless connectivity between the campus and nearby areas.

∙ Furthermore, the university has no parking fee policy to incentivize shared and public transportation usage, reducing individual vehicle dependency while creating a more sustainable and accessible campus environment.
