Current Skilling and Employment Scenario in Semiconductor Industry in the Country

Event Date: 12th April 2024

The event attracted more than 100 members, including students from B. Tech. 2nd and 3rd year and all faculty and staff members of department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering. Major inside was into the scope and potential of semiconductor industries, electronics industry fertility and looking at prime minister’s vision for development of semiconductor chip in the country. Mr. Partha P. Adhikari has shown a path to all the students to encourage participate in various programs initiated by the ministry of education under the umbrella of NIELET. Most of the students showed interest also to join the programme. Design skills explained by Mr. Partha P. Adhikari is crucial for positions related to semiconductor chip design, layout, and circuitry. Professionals with expertise in using design software and creating efficient and innovative chip architectures are highly valued. He also explained engineering skills play a significant role across different levels in the semiconductor industry. Whether it’s electrical, electronics, or process engineering, these skills are essential for designing, testing, and manufacturing semiconductor components. The semiconductor industry heavily relies on R&D to drive innovation and stay ahead of the competition. Professionals with a strong background in research and development contribute to the creation of cutting-edge technologies and products. He put insight on industry style internship program with exposure to industry standard projects benefits of specialized in specific IC design verticals like DV, DFT etc. HE also explained the complete visibility of ASIC implementation from Specs to GDSII, Cadence EDA tool bundle.
