Cleanliness Drive by SOHT Department NSS Activity report in format
Event Date: 10th August 2022
A cleaning drive outside the campus was conducted by NSS Team from SOHT department on 10th Aug 2022. The aim was not only to make the students understand the importance of cleanliness but also to make them understand that no work is less important. Students actively participated and also pledged to keep their area/surrounding clean. The cleanliness was conducted outside the campus, especially near edible joints. Shopkeepers were also advised to maintain cleanliness in their surrounding area to keep diseases at bay. Overall, it was a very successful and well-coordinated work led by SOHT students and their faculty.
On the bright morning of August 10th, 2022, the National Service Scheme (NSS) team from the School of Hospitality and Management Technology (SOHT) department embarked on a mission that transcended mere tidiness—it was a collective endeavor to instill a profound sense of responsibility towards cleanliness and community well-being. Armed with determination and a zeal for change, the students set out to not only sweep away litter but also to sweep away apathy and indifference.
As the sun ascended in the sky, casting its golden rays upon the campus, the NSS team stood united, ready to tackle the grime that had accumulated in the vicinity. Their mission was twofold: to educate their peers about the significance of cleanliness and to underscore the importance of every task, no matter how humble it may seem.
With brooms in hand and determination in their hearts, the students ventured beyond the confines of the campus, targeting areas frequented by students and locals alike. Their efforts were particularly concentrated around eateries, recognizing the importance of maintaining hygiene in places where food is prepared and consumed. Guided by their faculty, the students approached this task with a sense of duty, understanding that a clean environment is pivotal in safeguarding public health.
But their mission extended beyond mere physical cleanup. As they swept away debris and discarded waste, they also sought to sweep away misconceptions and misconstrued notions. Through their actions, they conveyed a powerful message: that no task is insignificant when it comes to fostering a healthy and thriving community.
The participation of the students was nothing short of inspiring. With each sweep of the broom and each piece of litter disposed of, they demonstrated their unwavering commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier environment for all. Their enthusiasm was contagious, drawing in bystanders and passersby who were moved to join in the effort.
Moreover, the NSS team didn't stop at cleaning up the immediate surroundings. They also engaged with local shopkeepers, urging them to take ownership of their surroundings and maintain cleanliness in their respective areas. Recognizing the symbiotic relationship between cleanliness and public health, they emphasized the importance of collective action in preventing the spread of diseases.
Led by the SOHT students and their dedicated faculty, the cleaning drive was a resounding success—a testament to the power of unity and collective action. As the day drew to a close and the last speck of dust was swept away, the campus and its surroundings gleamed with newfound vitality. But more importantly, the hearts and minds of all who participated had been touched, leaving an indelible impression of the transformative power of community-driven initiatives.
In the aftermath of the cleaning drive, a sense of pride and accomplishment permeated the air. The students had not only cleaned up their surroundings but had also sown the seeds of change, inspiring others to take up the mantle of responsibility. And as they pledged to keep their area clean, they did so with a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that their actions today would shape the world of tomorrow.
