Celebration of Constitution Day

Event Date: 26th November 2024

Our team of enthusiastic student volunteers of Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Club organised a meaningful event at Bihari Lal Inter College, aimed at spreading awareness about the Constitution and its significance. The day began with a powerful *Nukkad Natak* (street play) that highlighted the importance of understanding our constitutional rights. The performance was not only entertaining but also educational, engaging the audience in a discussion about the rights and duties of citizens as laid out by the Constitution. One of our student volunteers shared his thoughts, emphasising the need for everyone to be aware of their constitutional rights. The play helped bring the Constitution to life, making it easier for the community to connect with these fundamental ideas.

The event culminated with an *Awareness March*, where students and participants carried colourful posters with the message: *"Samvidhan ko Janiye, Apne Adhikaaro ko Pehchaniye!"* (Know the Constitution, Recognise Your Rights). The march created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and learning, promoting respect for democratic values. Through this engaging and interactive approach, we successfully communicated the importance of knowing and upholding the principles of our Constitution, leaving the participants with a deeper appreciation of their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The event was a successful tribute to the values that shape our democracy.

Outcomes:

The event at Bihari Lal Inter College, organised by the Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Club, significantly enhanced constitutional awareness among participants. The *nukkad natak* proved to be a creative and impactful medium, simplifying complex legal concepts and fostering meaningful discussions on constitutional rights and duties. This engaging approach empowered individuals to recognise and advocate for their rights, promoting responsible citizenship and strengthening the community's connection to democratic values. The Awareness March further amplified the event’s message, creating a vibrant atmosphere of enthusiasm and respect for the Constitution. By combining education with interactive participation, the event successfully inspired participants to uphold and appreciate the principles that shape our democracy.
