About the Programme

School of Education, Galgotias University is offering a Full Time and Regular Face to Face Two Academic Years (Four Semesters) duration Undergraduate Program of Bachelor of Education, generally known as B.Ed. It is a pre-service professional teacher education program that prepares teachers for secondary and senior secondary schools.

Eligibility

As per NCTE Regulations 2014 eligibility criterion for B.Ed. admission is a minimum fifty percent (50%) marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity/Commerce, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.

Note:

1- Any graduation degree holder with 50% marks (for Engineering with Science and Mathematics & 55% marks) could take admission in B.Ed. program.

2-All those candidates who have appeared in their final year graduation/PG examination and the result is awaited may also apply for B.Ed. program.

3- For SC/ST candidates minimum percentage is 45%.

Students having CUET Score will be given preference in merit.

These continually evaluate the effects of his/her choices and actions.

Contemporary Issues of Education: The student-teacher demonstrates understanding of the nature, purpose and philosophy of secondary and senior secondary education in India in the context of contemporary related issues and problems.

Communication Strategies: The student-teacher uses modern tools and technologies, information communication techniques (ICTs), to foster verbal and non-verbal communication, active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.

National and International Education Systems: The student-teacher demonstrates the capabilities for inculcating national values, goals as mentioned in the constitution of India, social cohesion and understanding of national and international education systems.

The Teacher and Society: The student-teacher demonstrates an understanding of the close relationship between the society and the school, factors and forces (within the school and outside) affecting the educational system and classroom situation and acts as an agent of modernization and social change.

Professional Ethics: The student-teacher demonstrates the teacher’s professional codes of ethics and conduct and maintains respectful collaborative relationships with parents/guardians regarding their children’s learning and well-being and participates in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.

Teacher Sensitization: The student-teacher demonstrates the value of honouring diversity and ensuring inclusion by treating all students and colleagues with respect and dignity, showing respect for and sensitivity to gender, culture, environment, population and religious differences and challenging prejudice, biases and intolerance in the workplace etc.
