About the Programme

The field of medical biotechnology is experiencing rapid growth in recent years, leading to the development of several innovative techniques for preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases. Medical biotechnology is also called Red biotechnology because of its application in the manufacturing of bio-pharmaceuticals like vaccines, enzymes, antibiotics etc. is the use of living cells and cell materials to research and produce pharmaceutical and diagnostic products that help treat and prevent human diseases.

NOTE: For selected 3 Year Undergraduate programs, you have the option to continue for 4th year to obtain an Honours with Research Degree.

XIIth with science with minimum 50% marks.

Students having CUET Score will be given preference in merit.

For Migration from Other Universities:

1) B.Sc in Medical Biotechnology Ist yr. minimum 50% marks or equivalent

2) XII with Science with minimum 50% marks.

Medical Biotechnology Knowledge: Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of Medical Biotechnology, including Human Physiology, Bioinstrumentation, Biosafety, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Microbial Technology, Drug Development, Genetic Engineering, Immunotechnology, Medicinal chemistry, Animal Biotechnology, Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering, Industrial Bioprocess Technology, and Molecular Diagnostics & Therapeutics.

Planning Abilities: Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines.

Problem analysis: Utilize the principles of Analytical thinking, clearly and critically, while solving problems and making decisions during research design. Find, analyse, evaluate and apply information systematically and making decisions related to Medical Biotechnology.

Modern tool usage: Learn and apply modern and appropriate tools related to Medical Biotechnology. As example, Drug Designing, Statistical Analytical System (SAS), Molecular Diagnostics & Therapeutics, Immunotechnology, and Industrial Bioprocess Technology.
