Dr. Chandan Mukherjee

Assistant Professor

Dr. Chandan Mukherjee is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Biological and Life Sciences at Galgotias University, Gr. Noida, UP. He has received a Ph.D. degree from the Environmental Biotechnology Group, Department of Botany, West Bengal State University, Kolkata, West Bengal. He did his Postdoc research for 3 years from Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He has presented his research work at several international and national conferences in India and abroad. He is very honest to his work and has the ability to work in fast-paced, time-bound environment. He always gives his efforts for the overall developments of his students. 

In short teaching career, he has taught Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Biochemistry to B. Pharm, M. Pharm and D. Pharm students and taken Practical classes of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Research Interests

  • Conversion of wastes to useful end products like biofertilizers, biofuels, omega-3 fatty acids by the bio-refinery approach using different microorganisms, and their applications.
  • Bioremediationandnutrientrecoverybymicroorganismsincludingbacteria, cyanobacteria, microalgae.
  • Metabolic engineering and genetic modifications of microbes to enhance their productivity.
  • Effect of environmental factors on gene and protein expression in microbes.
  • Microbial role in nutrient recycling in nature.
