World Mental Health Day

School of Nursing in Galgotias University has organized one onlineexpert talk on ‘World Mental Health Day’ on 10th October,2024. Speaker of the event was Dr. Grace Singh, Professor of Mental health nursing in Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun she was having more than 15 years of experience in the field of psychiatry. Talk was successful and was attended by 6th and 1stsem. Students. Ms. Mamta, PG tutor in GUSON was hosting this event and was introduced Dr Grace Singh also done her warm welcome. Afterwards Dr Grace started her session in the session she talked on the theme of world mental health day “It is Time to Priorities Mental Health in the workplace” Madam has discussed about the causes, risk, myths and prevention related to stress particularly on the workplace. In detail she has shared her experienced of dealing with such kind of cases. she eventually discussed about resilience, assertiveness and various therapies for work related stress.

Afterwards, mam has asked audiences to provide their views and how they can prevent such instances. Moving towards she had talked about relaxation program related to work stress. Also, she has talked about the advancement in the profession and need of health care worker to play a keen role in prevention of stress in community. Audiences placed a number of questions and queries to the speaker regarding therapies and diversion from stressful thoughts and the Dr Grace address their queries. Few of the audiences even ask about counseling courses and helpline numbers for such cases. Then, moving further Dr. Nancy Thakur thanks Dr Grace for her splendid and motivated talk, she reiterated the need to connect for such topics. She further highlighted the need to focus on change in behavior. This was a fruitful talk for the audiences as they gain knowledge and idea about stress and how to help their peer in such cases.
