Workshop on Transportation and warehousing in supply chain management

The School of Business at Galgotias University organized a guest lecture on "Transportation and Warehousing in Supply Chain Management." Prof. J. R. Dikhsit, a retired textile industry professional, shared his insights on supply chain management concepts. He focused on the global supply chain as a case study, explaining various segments in the textile industry. Over 100 participants, including students and faculty, attended the session. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session and concluded with a vote of thanks.

The fields of operations management (OM) and supply chain are connected with each other. In this context, School of Business, Galgotias University, successfully organized guest lecture on "Transportation and warehousing in supply chain management” on 23 February, 2023, from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM in hybrid mode.

More than 100 participants including UG and PG students and faculties of Galgotias University attended the session. Prof. (Dr.) Anamika Pandey, Associate Dean, School of Business welcomed the invited speaker and the participants. She talked about the importance of industry and academia connect along with career opportunity in supply chain.

Dr. Vivek Aggarwal, Associate Professor, School of Business introduced the speaker Prof. J. R. Dikhsit. Prof Dikhsit had retired from the textile industry after 35 years and switched to academics to share his experiences with budding managers. Prof Dikhsit has enlightened the students about concepts of supply chain management related to transportation and warehousing. He focused on the global supply chain as a case study of supply chain in India. He explained the various segments on supply chain management in textile industry. 

During the question answer session, several participants asked their queries and got satisfactory answers. The session was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Vivek Aggarwal. Mr. Reji John, Division Chair Operations and Prof. Mohamed Akhtar, Faculty Incharge of the session, facilitated the speaker with e-memento.
