On September 17, 2024, Galgotias University hosted a special event to celebrate Vishwakarma Day, honoring Lord Vishwakarma, the revered Hindu deity recognized as the divine architect and creator.The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. K. Mallikharjuna Babu, Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University; Ms. Pranjali Mishra, NSS Coordinator; Dr. Lekha Bist, Dean of Nursing; Dr. Deepak Soni, Head of Civil Engineering; Dr. Pawan Nain, DSW and Chief Proctor; Dr. Sudhir, Dean of Engineering; and Dr. Arvind Kumar, NSS Program Officer. This joint celebration, organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the National Service Scheme (NSS), took place in the university's mechanical workshop, attended by a notable assembly of deans, department heads, faculty, staff, and enthusiastic students.The event began with a traditional puja ceremony led by Pandit Gajendra, an NSS-certified student and priest. Following the puja, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, shared insights into the significance of the day, highlighting Lord Vishwakarma's vital role in Hindu mythology as the patron saint of artisans, craftsmen, and engineers. Vice Chancellor Dr. Babu delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the importance of engineering in nation-building, while Ms. Pranjali Mishra engaged students in discussions about the values of craftsmanship and innovation. After the puja, the blessed prasad was distributed among attendees, symbolizing the grace of Lord Vishwakarma. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mr. Kapil Rajput, the event coordinator, who expressed gratitude to faculty, staff, and students for their dedication and participation, which were key to the event’s success. the Viswakarma Puja celebration at Galgotias University was a remarkable success, providing a platform for students to showcase their engineering talents while promoting engineering education and raising awareness about important social causes.
