The Great Rebellion of 1857

On May 3rd, 2024, The NSS Unit-1 of Galgotias University, Greater Noida, organized a commemorative event to celebrate "The Great Rebellion of 1857." The event took place on the university campus. The celebration aimed to honor the historical significance of the 1857 rebellion, a pivotal uprising against British rule in India. The rebellion, also known as the First War of Indian Independence, marked a significant chapter in India's struggle for freedom. Dr. Arvind Kumar, The Program Officer of unit-1, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the bravery and sacrifices of the freedom fighters of 1857. The address emphasized the importance of remembering and learning from the past to shape a better future. Mr. Anurag Gupta ji, Mr. Tara Chand ji as departmental coordinators of Computer Science, They shared their insights on the historical context and the impact of the rebellion. They engaged the audience with stories of key figures and events that played crucial roles during the uprising. The 30 NSS Volunteers participated enthusiastically in various activities organized to mark the occasion. These activities included a historical quiz, competition focused on the theme of independence and patriotism. A reflective session was held where participants discussed the lessons learned from the rebellion and how they resonate with today's context. The discussion aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the values of freedom and justice.

The organizers, Prof. Arvind Kumar, Program Officer Tara Chand, and Anurag Gupta, along with the dedicated NSS volunteers, were instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event, from logistical arrangements to coordination of activities.
