The pandemic has drastically impacted the job market, making it even more challenging for young people to secure a job. The lack of Core Employability Skills (CES) further exacerbates this issue, as these skills are usually acquired through on-the-job training and work experience. With first-time jobseekers at a disadvantage when competing with experienced jobseekers, it's crucial to provide better CES to promote youth employment and help prepare them for a successful future.

Galgotias University is committed to enhancing learning and development by providing practical skill development training and strengthening the link between education, training, and the labor market. This approach helps to improve the employability of youth and disadvantaged individuals, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today's competitive job market.

Details of Program

The program offered by Galgotias University focuses on training individuals in various fields, including healthcare, beauty and wellness, electronics, and media and entertainment. The program combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for real-world challenges. The program spans 11 months and includes 180 hours of core theory, 180 hours of practical training, and 120 hours of on-the-job training. This well-rounded approach to education helps students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their chosen fields.

Galgotias University is selected as a Skill Hub under PMKVY 4. 0.This is through NSDC under Ministry of Skill Department and Entrepreneurship. Here we train 240 candidates from our University itself and upskill them in a Short Term Training module. 

Apart from this Galgotias University is tied up many Sector Skill Councils. Candidates from neighbourhood will be enrolled trained and those succeed will.be certified and placed. They also have the privilege to become entrepreneurs. 

Another option these certified candidates have is to enroll themselves in the National Apprenticeship portal aided by the Sector Skill council to be trained as a paid Apprentice in various Industries. They become job ready with on job training and become an experienced hand rather than being a fresher.

This serves the 8th SDG goal of Decent work.
