On September 11, 2024, the Department of Mass Communication at Galgotias University organized an event titled "Retro Revival: In Our 90's Era." The event aimed to bring back the nostalgia of India's unforgettable 90s, celebrating iconic music, dance, and timeless memories associated with that era. Held in the university auditorium, it was a lively affair enjoyed by both students and faculty.

The event began with a motivating speech from Dr. A. Ram Pandey, Head of the Department, who praised the students for their efforts in organizing the event quickly. The highlight of the program was a live performance by Noteveda, the university's music club, who captivated the audience with classic 90s hits. Energetic dance performances, a ramp walk, and interactive games added to the excitement.

The nostalgic vibe was enhanced with vintage décor, including chalkboard-style artwork, polaroid photos, and posters of iconic movies like "Karan Arjun" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." Students dressed as popular 90s movie characters added to the retro charm, making the event a memorable celebration of a beloved era.

Retro Revival: A Successful Blast from the Past organised by the Department of Mass Communication

Students of the Department Of Mass Communication, Galgotias University organized an event on 11th September 2024, “Retro Revival; In Our 90’s Era” to revive the nostalgia of the unforgettable 90’s era of India, the iconic hits, music, dance, and the memories associated to the evergreen and evocative 90’s. The event, held in the campus’s auditorium, was a vibrant celebration of nostalgia, bringing back the magic of the 90s for students and faculty alike.

The event started with the Head of the Department Dr. A Ram Pandey’s speech who appreciated and motivated the students for organizing the event in such a short time. The Retro Revival featured a captivating blend of live music by the Noteveda, a music club of the student council of Galgotias University, which set the stage with the 90’s vibes. Their soulful renditions of classic hits were met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the crowd. The energetic dance performances by the students of the department, ramp walk and interactive games transported attendees back to the 90’s.

The nostalgic atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of vintage décor and iconic props just outside the auditorium, the students showed their creativity by using black decoration and chalk, polaroids, and iconic movies like ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ posters as during the 90’s. The students of the Department were dressed up as the different movie characters of the 90’s increasing the charm and nostalgia of the event.

Renowned karate player Mr. Balram Gupta, the event included an engaging self-defense demonstration and motivational talk, highlighting the importance of safety.

The Retro Revival concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by team leader Chetna Shree. She expressed her gratitude to the entire BAJMC 5th semester team for their tireless efforts in making the event a success.In closing, course coordinator Dr. Manish Srivastava commended the students for their exceptional work. The 5th-semester students of the Mass Communication department extend their sincere thanks to all the participants, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the Retro Revival.
