Policy
Equal Treatment and Inclusive Environment:
All employees and staff at GU have the right to be treated equally, without any discrimination based on gender identity.
The university is dedicated to provide a supportive, safe, and protective environment for individuals of all gender identities.
Respect and support is extended to all members of the university community, irrespective of their gender identity.
Compliance with Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019:
GU fully complies with the provisions of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Legislative Department).
Inclusive Education:The university promotes "Inclusive Education," wherein transgender students learn alongside other students without fear of discrimination, neglect, harassment, or intimidation. The teaching and learning methods are adapted to meet the specific needs of transgender students.
Non-Discrimination in Employment:
The university does not discriminate against any transgender person in any employment-related matters, including recruitment, promotion, and other related issues.
Legislative Compliance - Section 6, (1), (2), (3):
Abiding by Section 6, (1), (2), (3) of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019:No citizen of India shall be excluded from any office, membership, appointment, admission to any degree, diploma, certificate, or other academic distinction based on sex, race, creed, class, caste, place of birth, religious belief, profession, or political opinion.
Definitions: All definitions related to gender identity and transgender persons adhere to those outlined in the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.
