NAVRAS 2024 was a spectacular showcase of the nine emotions or Rasas that we encounter in our daily lives. The event featured performances blending dance, poetry, music, and dramatic acts, providing the audience with an immersive experience of these emotional states. The program opened with Shant Ras, represented by a soothing Ganesh Vandana, setting a peaceful tone. This was followed by graceful performances of Shringar Ras through group dances and poetry recitations, exploring themes of love and beauty.
The emotional journey continued with an awe-inspiring display of Adbhut Ras, conveyed through a mesmerizing dance performance. Further poetry recitations enriched the event, leading to a powerful monologue showcasing Raudra Ras portraying through Drapadi’s Curse.
The performances, mentored by Dr.Gajendera Pratap Singh, were a perfect blend of artistic expressions, deeply engaging the audience and faculty alike. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. A Ram Pandey, Dean, School of Media and Communication Studies, Gangotia's University, who applauded the students' dedication. NAVRAS 2024 successfully captured the essence of the Rasas, offering a thought-provoking and enriching experience, showcasing the immense talent and hard work of the MJMC, Sem III students.

NAVRAS 2024, a vibrant celebration of emotions organized by the MJMC, Sem III students, brought to life the nine Rasas through captivating performances of dance, poetry, music, and monologues. The event aimed to explore the emotional spectrum we experience in our day to day lives. Each Rasa, including Shant (peace), Shringar (love), Adbhut (wonder), Raudra (anger), and Veer (bravery), was vividly portrayed, providing the audience with an immersive emotional journey.
The event commenced with a graceful Ganesh Vandana symbolizing Shant Ras, creating an atmosphere of serenity. This was followed by Shringar Ras, depicted through group dances and romantic poetry. The highlight of the program was a powerful monologue by Taruna Pal and Ayushi Biswas, portraying Raudra Ras (anger), which deeply moved the audience. The everyday humour was brought alive through a comedy skit written by Sandeep Bana leaving an everlasting smile on everyone’s face after bringing tear in their eyes. The fiery performance was complemented by a spirited rendition of "Arambh Hai Prachand," embodying Veer Ras (bravery) and celebrating courage and heroism.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. A Ram Pandey, Dean of SMCS, who commended the students for their artistic expressions and dedication. Dr.Gajendera Pratap Singh, the mentor for the event, also played a key role in guiding the students through their performances. The audience, comprising SMCS faculty and students, remained engaged throughout the program, appreciating the creativity and emotional depth of each performance.
In addition to being a cultural celebration, the event reflected Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. By portraying the spectrum of human emotions, NAVRAS 2024 highlighted the importance of emotional well-being and mental health. Through artistic expression, the event encouraged self-reflection, empathy, and a deeper understanding of human emotions, crucial elements for maintaining mental health in today’s fast-paced world. It emphasized the role of emotional awareness in fostering holistic well-being and resilience.
The event concluded with a sense of reflection on the emotional themes presented, with faculty members and guests praising the students' hard work and creative efforts. NAVRAS 2024 was not only a showcase of talent but also an example of how the arts can contribute to promoting emotional well-being and mental health, aligning with global efforts for sustainable development.
