National Workshop on Model Framework of Mathematics & Statistics Curriculum: NEP Perspective

School of Basic Sciences at Galgotias University in association with Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan organised two days National workshop on Model Framework on Mathematics and Statistics: NEP Perspectives on February 2-3, 2024. Last two days at Galgotias university was having a gathering of 140+ intellectuals in Mathematicians from all across the country, representing 21+ states and 50+ different institutions including four vice chancellors (former and present) brainstorming for the curriculum and syllabus of Mathematics and Statistics courses for UG and PG program.
On the first day, the opening session commenced with the Saraswati Vandana and Deep Jyoti performed by the esteemed dignitaries. In the inaugural session Dr. Dinesh Singh, Padm Shri awardee, former vice chancellor of DU, Chief Guest of the session appreciated the collaborative learner centric teaching pedagogy adopted by Galgotias university and emphasised the need of this for the current students. He suggested that the reference for curriculum should be the standard of top institutions of the world at the same time application and objective to be well developed. Guest of Honour Prof. Taneja and Prof. Rabi Narayan focused on induction of IKS in the curriculum. Vice chancellor Sir has emphasised for the Outcome based education. Guests of honour will be presented with mementos and shawls. Following that, a high tea break was arranged. Subsequently, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh presented the Model curriculum framework for Mathematics and Statistics as per the NEP UGC framework which was appreciated and adopted by all for recommendation to UGC. Afterwards, other online plenary sessions were arranged. Following that, a lunch break was organised for the participants.
With the guidance of all, 12 parallel brainstorming session were conducted in different areas of Mathematics and Statistics coordinated by the faculty members in Mathematics of Galgotias University, each for approximately 10 hrs each over a span of two days. During each session, the resource person, contributors, and coordinators have engaged in discussions and reached a final decision on the topics related to Mathematics and Statistics for the NEP UGC Framework. Later on, a cultural program was arranged, which was then followed by a meal.
On the second day, the final session discussion with the peer groups was held where every team have represented the outcome of their brainstorming sessions in the bigger platform in Auditorium during the valedictory session. Vice Chancellor Sir welcomed all the guests for the Valedictory session. Organising secretaries Dr J. P. Singh Joorel, Dr Shiv Raj Singh and Dr Sanjeev Singh thanked all the participants for their contributions. Shri Prakash Chandra, vice president of Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan was the guest of honour, who congratulated and thanked Galgotias university for working towards building the future of students.
The chief guests Prof. Dinesh Singh, Prof. Narender Kumar Taneja, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, Prof. Akhilesh Mishra, Prof. JP Singh Joorel, Dr. Piyush Tiwari, including the honourable vice chancellor, registrar, and dean of SBS, taking the view of the campus in Galgotias University.
The Vice-Chancellor cordially greeted the Guest of Honour, Padam Shri Awardee Prof. Dr. Dinesh Singh, during the inaugural ceremony of the two-day national workshop.
