"Memeistan." A hilarious event organised by students of mass communication.

What is the fun in attending events you've already attended? What is the fun in seeing the same repetitive things over and over again? This year, the students of Mass Communication came up with an amazing idea to host an event that was not only new but also far from boring, by incorporating all the famous memes from social media. After gathering feedback from faculty and students over a period of two years, they finally cracked the code. The event was held in the Swami Vivekanand auditorium of Galgotias University.

The event commenced with a small comedic act based on the classic meme "What is this behavior, Pooja?" from Big Boss. The act was meant to lighten the mood and give the audience a taste of what to expect from the rest of the event. The welcome speech promised an evening filled with laughter, and these promises were certainly kept when both faculty members and students couldn’t stop laughing at the mock ID cards made by the event management team forthefaculty.

The first performance was by the Actors Hub, whose acting skills and stage presence were spot on. The act aligned perfectly with the event's theme and set the right tone for the evening. This was followed by an energetic dance performance by the girls' dance team, which had the audience on their

feet, fully immersed in the event.Up next, three former members of Note Veda captivated everyone with their jamming session. For the first time in our three-year history, the auditorium was completely dark, with the only light coming from the phone flashes of the audience. The soothing atmosphere was not only a novel experience for the students but also for the faculty. Both the audience and the faculty joined in, jamming with the group, creating an extraordinary, unforgettable experience.

The team also organized interactive games for both students and faculty. The students were tasked with adding humorous taglines to funny pictures of our beloved faculty, while the teachers had to mark memes on their meme bingo cards. These games ensured everyone’s full engagement throughout the event.

The highlight of the evening came from the boys’ dance group, delivering the funniest performance of the night. They had the entire audience on their feet, with some even falling from their seats in fits of laughter. There were tears of joy and shock, making it a truly unforgettable performance.

The event was designed to keep the audience thoroughly entertained. After the amazing dance performance, the crowd was treated to a stand-up comedy roast, performed by one of the team members. The comedian interacted with the audience on a personal level, playfully poking fun at them to ensure everyone felt included and amused.

To introduce and showcase each team member, a creative ramp walk was held, where every member dressed up as a meme or funny character. This was followed by a hilarious segment where the technical team displayed memes featuring actual images of the faculty members. The memes were humorously read aloud by the faculty themselves, adding to the fun.

To conclude the event, Dr. A. Ram Pandey, the HOD of the Mass Communication department, gave a congratulatory speech, applauding the success of the event and motivating us for future endeavours. Following his speech, Manish Sir, the course coordinator who helped organize the event, also delivered a speech. He expressed his pride in the team and emphasized how the support of the faculty allowed us to reach the heights we had envisioned.
