International Conference on “Technology Driven Agriculture to Face Imminent Future Challenges”

The School of Agriculture organized a conference on “Technology Driven Agriculture to Face Imminent Future Challenges”, on 19th to 21st December 2023. This 3-day event was jointly organized with ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture and All India Agricultural Students Association. The inaugural session was attended by Prof KK Singh, Vice Chancellor of SVPUAT, Meerut, and Dr. Richard Sikora, Professor Emeritus at the University of Bonn, Germany.

The conference featured 40 lead and keynote speakers, around 110 oral and poster presentations, and 485 registered participants. There were eight technical sessions which were chaired by various experts in the field, including Dr. JS Mishra, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Science Research; Dr. Subhash Chander, Director, ICAR-National Centre of Integrated Pest Management; Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, Director, CHMF and Dr. R Kannan, Head Ph.D. programs, Galgotias University, Dr. MK Verma, Director, ICAR-CITH, Dr. VK Yadav, Director (Seed and Farm), CSUAT, Kanpur and Dr. Anil Dixit, Joint Director, ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management and Dr. Vineeta Vishwakarma, Additional Dean Research, Galgotias University.

Eminent lead speakers included Dr. Mukesh Sehgal, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NCIPM; Dr. Dinesh Singh, Head, Division of Post Harvest, ICAR-IARI; Dr. DP Singh, Former Principal Scientist, IIWBR; Dr. Shalini Gaur Rudra, Senior Scientist, ICAR-IARI; Dr. Mayank Rai, Head KVK, Dadri; Dr. JP Singh, Founder, FARMER; Dr. Debtanu Barman, Director, Aqua Doctor Solutions and Dr. Amitava Rakshit, Associate Professor, BHU and Dr. Ramesh Mittal, Director, NIAM.

The Chief Guest for the Valedictory function was Dr. US Teotia, Regional Director-Agriculture at India Potash Limited. The conference received positive feedback from participants, guests, and speakers.
