Financial Planning and Wealth Management

The School of Business at Galgotias University, in collaboration with Securities Exchange board of India, hosted the workshop titled "Financial Planning and Wealth Management " on December 4, 2024. The event aimed to enhance financial literacy and introduce students to financial planning and investment in securities.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Anupma Shukla, Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, School of Business, who emphasized the importance of financial planning. The keynote speaker, Mr. Himani Lath, Smart Trainer SEBI, provided valuable insights on investment options tailored for young investors, such as mutual fund, shares, SIP. She stressed the importance of early investments and the power of compounding. Also guided students on online trading insecurities and role of NDLS in capital market.
An interactive Capital market investment and wealth management through online trading was a key highlight, allowing students to engage in online trading scenarios. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jaideep Sharma, Program Chair (Finance), recognizing the contributions of wealth management through financial investments, the faculty, and students. Overall, the workshop succeeded in boosting financial awareness and providing hands-on learning experiences.

Inaugural Session:

The keynote speaker, Ms. Himani Lath, Smart Trainer SEBI, provided valuable insights on
Investment Options for Young Investors.
Ms. Himani discussed a variety of investment avenues suitable for young investors, including mutual funds, equities, bonds, and SIPs. She emphasized the significance of early investment and the power of compounding in wealth management.
Role of SEBI and NDLS in Capital Market:
In addition to investment strategies, Ms Himani provided insightful guidance on role of SEBI and NDLS in financial investment and investors protection.
Interactive Session – Prudent Investors:
A highlight of the workshop was the online trading rules and guidelines, in which students actively participated. Also provided information on online and portfolio investment.
