The relevance of outcome-based education and its relationship to teaching-learning outcomes are becoming more prevalent in higher education institutions. Learning and applying OBE's tools and procedures has grown in importance as a component of faculty development. The primary goal of the FDP is to have productive conversations regarding the procedures to be followed and methods to be implemented into the educational system, thereby generating a unique opportunity for creative evaluation and student involvement.
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Course Design, Development, and Delivery held at Galgotias University's School of Business was a significant endeavour aimed at enhancing the pedagogical capabilities and academic standards of the faculty members. The program saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries including Prof. Seema Gupta, Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Anamika Pandey, Associate Dean, Prof. Sushil Dixit (Resource Person), and other distinguished faculty members of School of Business.
The inauguration commenced with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Vivek Aggarwal. Dr. Seema Gupta, in her welcome address, emphasized the importance of Outcome Based Education (OBE) in today's educational landscape and the significance of refining skills in course design, development, and delivery.
Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Dixit, the esteemed resource person for the FDP. With over 20 years of experience in both academia and industry, Dr. Dixit brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the workshop. His background in Strategic Management and Marketing, along with his proficiency in OBE, made him the perfect guide for the participants. The event delved into the relevance and scope of OBE in business education, emphasizing the need for aligning curriculum and assessments with desired learning outcomes. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants learned to articulate Course Outcomes (COs), map them to Program Outcomes (POs), and design assessments to evaluate the achievement of learning outcomes effectively.
Dr. Dixit's in-depth understanding of OBE principles, coupled with his practical insights, enriched the learning experience for all attendees. He shared valuable strategies for crafting engaging management questions, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and application skills among students. By the end of the FDP, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of OBE and its implementation in MBA and BBA courses. They were equipped with the tools and techniques to enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and overall program quality. Dr. Dixit's expertise, combined with the enthusiasm and dedication of the faculty members, ensured that the event was a resounding success.
