Drought-Tolerant Landscapes in the Campus
To promote sustainability, the campus has adopted drought-tolerant landscaping practices. Native and drought-resistant plants such as succulents, ornamental grasses, and xerophytes have replaced water-intensive species. Barren areas have been transformed into green pastures with native vegetation, enhancing biodiversity and reducing soil erosion. Mulching and soil amendments are utilized to retain moisture and improve soil health. Drip irrigation systems ensure efficient water use, while rainwater harvesting supports irrigation needs. This initiative minimizes potable water consumption, reduces maintenance costs, and creates a visually appealing, eco-friendly environment that aligns with the university's commitment to sustainable development.
