Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, one of the most influential figures in modern Indian history. Born on April 14, 1891, Dr. Ambedkar was a champion of social justice, equality, and human rights, particularly for marginalized communities, including Dalits (formerly known as untouchables).
As the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar played a pivotal role in shaping the nation's legal framework, ensuring fundamental rights, social justice, and equality for all citizens. His tireless efforts in advocating for the rights of Dalits and other oppressed groups have left an indelible mark on Indian society.
On 13.04.2024, a program was arranged in the A Block Seminar hall to celebrate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti(14th April). He was a well-known politician and an eminent jurist. He was a great social reformer, lawyer, thinker, political activist, author and framer of Indian Constitution. For whole of the life, he advocated and strived hard for the eradication of untouchability.
His memory, through events like these, continues to inspire and guide generations toward a more equitable and just society, echoing his timeless message of liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Dr. Arvind Kumar, NSS Program Officer, lauded Ambedkar's visionary outlook and the progressive tenets he embedded within the Constitution, ensuring fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, expression, equality, justice, and gender equality, along with uplifting marginalized communities and women.
Our Department Deans of SCSE, SCAT and HoD of DOME, all teaching and non-teaching staff as well as 30 NSS Voluntees joined the birth anniversary celebrations at the university, contributing to the collective homage paid to Dr. Ambedkar's legacy were present on this occasion.
