A webinar was hosted by School of Computer Applications and Technology (SCAT) and School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE). The speaker of the webinar was Dr. Safvan Vahora.
Dr. Safvan Vahora is an Assistant Professor (GES-Class II) at GEC Modasa in Gujarat, India. His research focuses on the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Medical Imaging, and Image Processing. Dr. Vahora is an accomplished academic, having delivered over 13 invited talks at various workshops and training programs. He has published more than 20 research articles in reputable journals and conferences, and he holds three Indian patents. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer, editorial board member, and program committee member for several international journals and conferences.
He discussed applications in areas such as computer vision and natural language processing, and highlighted recent innovations like transformer models. The session also touched on ethical concerns in AI, including data privacy and algorithmic bias.
The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to engage with Dr. Vahora on topics like the future of deep learning, challenges in training large models, and career advice for aspiring deep learning professionals.
It was a very fruitful session. His insightful thoughts encouraged the participants. The presentation presented by him was very informative and everyone heard his talks with full attention.
