Cadence Tool Training
Event Date: 04th - 05th September 2024
The training for Electronic Circuit Simulation & VLSIDesignSystems with access to Cadence tools has been conducted in the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (DEECE) at C-344 Lab. It aligns with our University's commitment to innovation and academic excellence. Having exposure and working with Cadence tools will give faculty more depth in the VLSI domain. The faculty can write projects to do research work and obtain project funds. Faculty applying for Ph.D. in the VSLI domain can use the Cadence tool for their research work. The paper published using Cadence tools is accepted worldwide. It would also be extensively used for academic training of students.
Detailed Description- Two days training by Entuple Technologies Pvt. Ltd was organized in the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (DEECE) for B.Tech., M.Tech. students and PhD scholars. This is with reference to present a proposal for Procurement of “Cadence Software for Academics (VLSI Lab.), Research/Innovation, Development and Training” at our University in the name of “Microelectronics Fabrication Lab for Electronic Circuit Simulation & VLSI Design Systems”. Cadence is the only software that has Industry-standard tools for the entire VLSI flow starting from the Concept to the Tap out (IC fabrication). The bundle we propose to procure has both Custom IC and Semi-Custom IC tools (Analog and Digital tools) which will enable the students to acquire the knowledge of VLSI flow. Most of the Cadence tools are Signoff tools which are used in most industries.
The students will acquire knowledge of Industry standard tools. The students will understand the VLSI subjects in depth. Will help the students to get shortlisted for interviews in the VLSI Industry. The students can publish papers using the VLSI tools. They can also apply for Internships at reputed VLSI Companies across the country.
Having exposure and working with Cadence tools will give faculty more depth in the VLSI domain and aid in the field of research.
By launching this program, our institute will be recognized with the industry standard tools in the VLSI domain. The institute will be known for its quality labs in the electronics domain. The placement of students can be improved in the core domain. The institute will be able to conduct seminars, training programs, and faculty development programs thereby increasing the visibility in the nearby colleges. Overall, the quality of education in the electronics department will be increased.
Event Outcome: We believe that the establishment of Microelectronics Pre-Fabrication Lab for Electronic Circuit Simulation & VLSI Design Systems aligns with our University commitment to innovation and academic excellence. We are confident that this initiative will not only benefit our students and faculty but also contribute to the broader community and industry.
