Sanitary Pad Distribution by IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) x Nayiumang
Event Date: 14th November 2024
The Sanitary Pad Distribution initiative organized by Nayi Umang in collaboration
with Women in Engineering (WiE) aimed to promote menstrual hygiene awareness and
address the challenges many women face due to lack of access to sanitary products. The event focused on empowering
women and raising awareness about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene.
The primary goal of the initiative was to distribute sanitary pads to underprivileged women and
raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene. The collaboration between Nayi
Umang (a social initiative) and Women in Engineering aimed to bridge this gap and
provide support to women in need.
The Sanitary Pad Distribution initiative by Nayi Umang in collaboration with
Women in Engineering (WIE) was a powerful step towards raising awareness about menstrual hygiene,
breaking taboos, and providing women with access to essential hygiene products. By combining education, advocacy,
and support, the event not only addressed a pressing health need but also empowered women to speak openly about
their menstrual health, contributing to long-term societal change.
Sanitary Pad Distribution by IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) x Nayi Umang aligns primarily with
SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by promoting health
and well-being, especially for women. It also supports SDG 6 (Clean
Water and Sanitation), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), and SDG 17
(Partnerships for the Goals)
